Out of all the gifts my mother has ever received, she still references the time we spent together and any homemade gifts that she received from me and my sister. One year, when I was 12yrs old, I made her a gift box that unfolded to reveal a different picture on each side of the box. It was such a last minute, simple design, but creative and heartfelt gift. She remembered the memories of past trips taken and kept the box for all her tiny mementos. Every now and then I hear her reference that box to her friends.
